Planning a kids' sports birthday party in Lahore
How to run a children's birthday party at a sports venue in Lahore: what it costs, how long to book, and what to sort out yourself.
· 5 min read

A sports party solves the hardest problem with children's birthdays: what the children actually do for two hours. A hall gives you space and a catering bill and twenty bored eight-year-olds. A pitch gives you a game, and the party runs itself.
It also introduces a problem halls do not have — you are now organising a venue, a schedule and food as three separate things. Here is how to do that without it becoming a project.
What it costs
Sports venues in Lahore price a party as exclusive use of the space for a fixed block, usually two to three hours, rather than per child. That is worth understanding before you compare quotes: a per-child hall package and a whole-venue sports package are not the same product, and the sports option gets relatively cheaper the more children you invite.
| Option | Typical Lahore cost | What it usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| Whole-venue sports hire, 2–3 hours | Rs 15,000 – 35,000 | Exclusive use of the ground, spectator seating, staff on site |
| Per-child hall package | Rs 1,200 – 2,500 per child | Room, food, sometimes an entertainer |
| Venue plus outside catering | Hire cost + your own food bill | Most control, most co-ordination |
The private party package at London Sports Arena is Rs 22,000 for a two-to-three hour block of exclusive use. The arena does not serve food, so cake and catering are yours to bring — which is worth planning for rather than discovering on the day.
How long to book
Three hours sounds generous and is usually right. Children arrive over the first twenty minutes, and you lose another twenty at the end to shoes, bags and goodbyes. A two-hour booking is really ninety minutes of party.
- 1First 20 minutes — arrivals, shoes off, everyone on the pitch informally. Do not try to start anything structured here.
- 2Next 60 minutes — the actual games. Two shorter formats beat one long match; children who are knocked out of a single game have nothing to do for an hour.
- 3Then 25 minutes — cake and food, sitting down, off the playing surface.
- 4Last 20 minutes — free play while parents arrive and collect. This is the buffer that stops the party overrunning.
The things people forget
- Somewhere for parents to sit. Half of them will stay, and standing in the sun for three hours makes for a short party.
- Water, in quantity. This is the single most underestimated item at a sports party in Lahore, especially between May and September.
- A wet-weather answer, if you are booking during monsoon. Ask the venue what happens to your slot if it rains, and get the answer before you pay.
- Whether you can bring your own food, and whether there is anywhere to put it. Not every sports venue has a table.
- Two adults who are not the host. Someone has to run the game while someone else handles the cake.
When to book
Weekend afternoons are the first slots to go at every sports venue in the city, and a fortnight ahead is sensible for a Saturday or Sunday. A weekday party — for a school-year group finishing at 2pm, say — can usually be arranged with a few days' notice and often costs less.
